Commercial Project Brief

Wayville Railway Station is an iconic station adjacent to the Royal Adelaide Show Grounds. The station is designed to be an eye-catching entry statement for train passengers to the show grounds and is required during peak periods to handle a large number of passengers in a safe and orderly fashion. Likewise, the station will actively encourage persons attending the show to utilize public transport and also services local office areas in Keswick and Rose Park.

The scope of fencing and associated works

The project required that Fieldquip provided and installed the following elements; tubular security fencing, monowills style handrails, balustrades, bike safe rails, kick rails, 358 mesh panels and enclosures, stainless steel weather screens, electrical isolation, and access ladders.

Challenges for the site

The site presented particular challenges as it was built to an ambitiously tight schedule. Likewise, they required the project to be built around the busiest section of train line in the Adelaide Region. Contractor Macdow as the principal delivered on time and with very good safety record. Problem

A housing estate developer came to us looking for a front fence design for a whole housing estate. They were looking for something to create an upmarket beat, create a uniform feel and maintain the high value while keeping costs within budget. Likewise, Devine was also looking for a company able to manage the ongoing front fence project.

Solution

Fieldquip came up with a solution using Wallmark products which did not require council approval for each block ( unlike block pillars). Furthermore, we customised it to suit their required design. It’s a high quality product with no council involvement which will continue to add value to the area. Likewise, the project also required fitting tubular dividing fences and letterboxes to all properties. To sum up, over 100 properties have had fences installed to date.
